Yes, I'm on a quest for crazy deep-fried food. Not to eat, but for a character to experiment with. Here's a fab one, deep friend spaghetti and meatballs! Crazy? Uh-huh. Would I take a bite? Yep. So, obviously, would Deep-Fried Joe.

Spaghetti and Meatball Dinner on a Stick — is a bit scary. How to judge? I decided to do what wine tasters do. Give the dinner a sniff. Take a cautious bite. Smoosh it around in my mouth and then, if it tastes good, keep eating. Or, if it tastes horrible, spit it into my napkin and scrub my palate with the rough side of a Premium Saltine.
Growing up in New York, my Italian mom would sometimes fry leftover spaghetti if we'd beg her long enough. It was yummy. Fried food was a rare thing in Momma Nancy's apartment.
Now I live in the South. Go figure.

If I'm not mistaken, The Cheesecake Factory serves as an appetizer a ball of deep-fried macaroni and cheese. It's yummy!

When we lived in the South, I was introduced to deep fried Twinkies. They put it in a pancake batter, then fry it up. My arteries clog at the thought. I also observed deep fried asparagus, green beans, and cupcakes. Yeech.

As soon as I taste it and like it.. then the law will pass on the "fat" content.. like New York is considering.

We Minnesotans have a long and varied tradition of fried food (and you thought Southerners had cornered the market!) that's really celebrated at the Minnesota State Fair.
Here's a link to a YouTube video cataloguing the 59 different foods one could get on a stick at the State Fair, including fried candy bars, fried scotch eggs, fried celery and fried alligator.

A couple of restaurants now serve fried macaroni and cheese. It is really great. They scoop it like a meatball (I don't know if it has a crumb coating or not) and deep fry it.
