I guess its according to what kind of personality you want her to have. The first one looks like she's the salt of the earth kind of person but who was probably never popular but highly dependable. My 13 year old daughter thinks she looks severe. I think she just looks practical and serious.
The second one looks fun, free, and a bit whacky so would be a great mental image if your narrator is going to be quirky and outgoing.
The third one, according to my daughter, looks like she's gone thru a lot of sadness. But has now reached peace? She doesn't look very blue-collar, though, so there'd need to be some story that perhaps she was from impoverished gentry? A distant cousin whose family went bankrupt during the depression? She's very beautiful and elegant and would definitely shake the stereotypical image of a housekeeper.

Oh yes. The coal company owner is unmarried and without children.

How old is he?

He's about 45 - 48. I like the top woman a lot, because, although she looks no-nonsense (which would be good) she seems like she has that glint in her eye which shows she gets the humor of most situations even if she doesn't say a word!

I could see that. I could also see how she'd be overlooked a lot just based on her looks but despite that, I don't get the impression that she's a shrinking flower. She seems like she's okay with what she's got and knows a lot more than folks would give her credit for.
