Jake and Gwynnie had their belt test in Shaolin-Do this past Saturday. Here they are on the stairs of "the nook" just before lessons this afternoon. As you can see, Jake got his blue belt (from yellow) and Gwyn went from white to yellow. Next step will be green for Jake, and, of course, blue for Gwyn. We just love the teachers at the Y. If you don't belong to the Y, it's a great way to get inexpensive lessons and support a good work. We've become big fans of the YMCA since moving to Lexington.
Shaolin is a wonderful martial art. Very beautiful, lyrical and graceful. And at least with the people that teach the kids, no charbroiled machismo. I hate that crap.
I'm just sayin'.
That's just the CUTEST picture!! (Don't tell Jake I said 'cute'.) And I'm so relieve to know that your spot has the possibility of natural light.
Really. You've got great light in that house. I can see why the kids don't want to move. Light like that does something for the soul.
