Hollywood Nobody, my first YA book and the first book in the Hollywood Nobody series from NavPress has recently released. Join Francis Scott Fitzgerald Dawn, "Scotty," as she travels around from movie set to movie set with her food stylist mother. Something's always happening around the old Travco RV they call home.
Back Cover Copy:
Most teens would envy Scotty's life, traveling to film sets, rubbing elbows with the hottest stars. But playing sidekick to her flighty "movie food-stylist" mother, Charley, makes the 15-year-old long for a "normal" life---and ask tough questions. Who is her father? Why is Charley receiving mysterious phone calls? A funny, street-smart coming-of-age story!
Yay! I feel like I've been waiting forever for this one.

Hey Lisa - congratulations! Very exciting! My Alinea is 11 - how would this fare for her "going into 6th grade brain"?

Hey Lisa. I stumbled across your website and I just wanted to tell you that your covers are great! They've enticed me (along with your blog) to read them. I guess that old saying about not judging a book by the cover has pretty much gone out the window in this case.

Hi,
Does being a missionary working with youth count? The book sounds great.

I just finished Hollywood Nobody. I received a copy this past Saturday in the mail and finished it already (ahead of 100 other books) and it was fabulous. Check out my review. I'm posting it everywhere. I have about a thousand teen "friends" on Shoutlife and I plan to tell the world about it. :) Hope this one sells big-time!

Hi Lisa! Just finished Hollywood Nobody! I'll be posting my FIRST review on the first, but I wanted to send it along to you while it's "fresh"! Great read!!One thing I’m beginning to learn as I do these book reviews is that publishing houses have personalities. Navpress is edgy, and so is Lisa Samson’s new book Hollywood Nobody. I’ve not read much in the current teen fiction genre, so this book was a stretch for me. However, once I got used to the non-stop chatter of the main character, Scotty, I couldn’t put it down! I had to keep reading to find the answers!
I mean, this girl has got it going on! I’m just sayin’! It’s like having a 15-year-old computer nerd take over your brain for a few hours. She’s smart, very insightful, and trying to make sense out of her very unusual lifestyle! Lisa Samson realistically inserts her search for Jesus and spirituality and leaves you, realistically, with no real answers at the end of the book. However, the first chapter of the next book in the series is also at the end, so you are left hungry for more and wondering what’s next for our endearing Scotty!
So, even if you normally read adult fiction – and I’m telling you, Hollywood Nobody qualifies as adult in some areas – but I guess modern teens know more about a lot of things these days…Anyway, if you want a radical change of pace and you want to explore a chatty teenager’s mind, pick up a copy of Hollywood Nobody…it’s pretty cool! I’m just sayin’! (Mercy! This book has made me ramble!)

i read your book "Hollywood Nobody" and i love it, now i am reading "Finding Hollywood Nobody"
it is sooo good i love the way you right the books. I can not wait till "Romancing Hollywood Nobody" comes out in July. You should make a fourth book....I will bye them all. My favorite part in the book "Hollywood Nobody is when Seth takes scotty's chin and pulls her forward and kisses her on the forhead. I cried when scotty Found out that she had a dad but the found out that he died. And that she found out that Charley is not her mom but her grandmother. Thank you for righting these books they are the best.

I just finished The Passion of Mary-Margaret. This is the first of your books for me. I loved it. I couldn't put it down. Many smiles, laughter, and many tears. What a joy this has been. I am sending it off to my 81-year-old mother tomorrow. However, I am confused. Most of the main characters are Catholic; you mention a goodly number of Catholic authors and titles; in your acknowledgments you mention Fr. Walt Bado, SJ, as your pastor and spiritual advisor; but the scriptural quotes are from the King James version of the Bible. Please explain.

Hi Linda!
Good question. The publisher decided to do that for permission reasons.
